“You both do not have any love for your child and are just fighting on the child’s expense,” the Court added on finding that the child had been sick since last November.
On Monday, the Supreme Court expressed concern for the well-being of a child involved in a custody dispute between their parents. A Vacation Bench, comprising Justices PV Sanjay Kumar and Augustine George Masih, urged the conflicting parents to focus on the child’s proper care, especially during the intense summer heat in Delhi, rather than continuing their feud. The Court was troubled to learn that the child has been ill since last November.
“You have not been able to find a good pediatrician till now. Both parents are making a pawn of their child. Absolutely terrible. You both do not have any love for your child and are just fighting on the child’s expense. So many months have passed,” Justice Kumar remarked, while addressing the parents.
“We are only concerned with rights of child and not any of you both. Take care of your child. It is extreme heat,” Justice Masih weighed in.
The Court emphasized the necessity of safeguarding the child’s rights and interests. After considering both parties’ arguments, it granted the father visitation rights.
